Focus and Scope

BESTARI: Journal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat disseminates current and original articles from academics, researchers, and practitioners in the field of community service, such as: reports on activities, studies, and research related to innovative community service programs that have a positive impact on society.

BESTARI: Journal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat explores research on the following themes:

  1. Community Empowerment. Programs aimed at improving the social and economic well-being of communities through training, education, and mentoring.

  2. Appropriate Technology Innovation. Implementation of simple technology that can be used by communities in various sectors, such as agriculture, fisheries, MSMEs, and others.

  3. Human Resource Development (HRD). Activities related to enhancing skills, knowledge, and capacities of communities, particularly in the fields of education, health, and economy.

  4. Public Health Improvement. Programs focusing on health services, health awareness campaigns, as well as preventive and curative treatments within the community.

  5. Environmental Conservation. Activities related to environmental conservation, waste management, reforestation, and community-based ecotourism development.

  6. Local Economic Development. Programs encouraging the development of local economic potential through entrepreneurship training, traditional market management, or the development of regional flagship products.

  7. Education and Training. Initiatives focused on improving access and quality of education through literacy programs, teacher training, and the development of locally relevant curricula.

  8. Social Welfare. Development of social assistance programs, empowerment of vulnerable groups (such as the elderly, children, or persons with disabilities), and the enhancement of social services at the community level.

  9. Strengthening Local Institutions. Activities that help strengthen community institutions such as cooperatives, farmers' groups, or village-owned enterprises (BUMDes).

  10. Social Infrastructure Development. Construction and improvement of public facilities that support the social and economic activities of communities, such as village roads, clean water facilities, and sanitation.
