Author Guideline
General Guidelines
- Manuscripts submitted to JBSI must be original and have not been previously published, nor are they under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- The manuscript should be written in English or Indonesian using academic language.
- Authors are responsible for the content, originality, accuracy, and ethical aspects of their work.
- The manuscript should be submitted through the online submission system (OJS). Submissions via email are not accepted.
Manuscript Format
- Length: 5,000–7,000 words including references.
- File type: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, A4 paper size, margins 3 cm (top, left, right, bottom).
- Referencing style: APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition.
Structure of the Manuscript
Manuscripts should follow the structure below:
- Title
- Written in English (and Indonesian if the article is in Indonesian).
- Clear, concise, and no more than 15 words.
- Author(s) Name and Affiliation
- Full name(s) without academic titles.
- Affiliation (department, faculty, university/institution, city, country).
- Email of corresponding author.
- Abstract and Keywords
- Abstract written in English and Indonesian (150–250 words each).
- Contains background, objective, method, results, and conclusion.
- 3–5 keywords.
- Introduction
- Explains background, literature review, research gap, and objectives.
- Method
- Research design, data collection, instruments, procedures, and data analysis.
- Results and Discussion
- Research findings presented systematically.
- Supported with tables/figures if necessary.
- Discussion should link findings with theories or previous studies.
- Conclusion
- Summarizes main findings, implications, and possible future research.
- Acknowledgements (optional)
- Funding, contributors, or institutions that supported the research.
- References
- Use only sources cited in the manuscript.
- Must follow APA 7th edition style.
- At least 70% of references from reputable journals or books published within the last 10 years.
Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and provided with captions.
- Images must be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
- Authors should ensure they have permission for using copyrighted materials.
Ethical Considerations
- Authors must ensure the manuscript is free from plagiarism (maximum similarity index 20%).
- A plagiarism check report (Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar) must be uploaded as a supplementary file.
- Research involving human participants must include ethical clearance if required.
Submission and Review Process
- Manuscripts must be submitted via the OJS system
- The journal implements double-blind peer review.
- Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ and editors’ suggestions.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
- The APC is payable only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. There is no submission fee.
Reference Management
- Authors are strongly encouraged to use Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or other citation management software.
